Creating GMDN PT terms

Global Medical Device Nomenclature (GMDN) terms provide regulatory and medical documentation monitoring for implant devices.

GMDN is used for these purposes:

  • Identify medical devices
  • Data exchange between manufacturers, regulators, and healthcare authorities
  • Exchange of post-market vigilance information
  • Supporting inventory control in hospitals
  • Purchasing and supply chain management
  1. Select Administrator > Supply Management and click the Inventory tab.
  2. On the Classes And Codes pane, click GMDN Terms.
  3. Click Create and specify this information:
    Item Group
    Select an item group.
    Code
    Specify a GMDN code.
    Name
    Specify a GMDN code name.
    Definition
    Provide a GMDN code definition.
  4. Click Save.
