Journal entry approval process

Approval process indicators are available to enhance the efficiency and transparency of the Global Ledger (GL) approval work flow. These indicators serve as visual cues or status markers, helping users identify resources that are pending approval. By providing real-time visibility into approval statuses, users can proactively follow up on outstanding approvals, ensuring timely processing and reducing potential bottlenecks.

These indicators facilitate collaboration among stakeholders, enabling them to track progress and take the necessary actions to move approvals forward without delays.

An Approval Information tab on the Journal Control page is only available if the journal qualifies for approval.
Note: Journals are qualified for approval if the Journal Approval field is Amount Only or Amount And Unit at the accounting entity level. An approval code is required when the journal is created, which makes it eligible for the approval process. Approval codes are user-defined.

Reasons to use the approval process:

  • Help users identify pending approval resources.
  • Enable pro-active follow-ups on outstanding approvals.
  • Reduce potential bottlenecks in the approval process.
  • Facilitate better tracking and coordination among stakeholders.
  • Ensure that all required steps are taken to advance approvals in a timely manner.
