Transaction handling during template processing
When a Process Pending or Clear Local Budget Copy action is initiated, the budget template status changes to Processing. During this time, you can create or modify both unreleased and released transactions.
Although Release actions can be triggered while the template is in the Processing state, the actual release will only begin when the Process Pending action is completed and the template status is updated to Ready.
This table shows the outlines of what actions are allowed or restricted during the Processing state, based on the document or transaction status:
Users can also create or update transactions with a pending status. See this table for specific scenarios:
| Scenario | Create, Update, or Delete | Release |
|---|---|---|
| Unreleased transactions without predecessors | You can create, update, or delete transactions, lines, or distributions. | You may initiate a release, but the transaction will be queued and initiated for release once the template status is Ready. |
| Unreleased transactions with predecessors
For example, creating a Purchase order from a Requisition. |
Allowed only if changes do not delete commitments. Deleting commitments is not permitted. | You may initiate a release, but the transaction will be queued and initiated for release once the template status is Ready. |
| Released transactions that can have updates after releasing
For documents that allow an update after it is released such as the Purchase Order. |
Allowed only if changes do not delete commitments. Deleting commitments is not permitted. | You may initiate a release, but the transaction will be queued and initiated for release once the template status is Ready. |
