Creating a dimension override and weight builder
You can use this procedure to create a dimension override and weight builder for actuals allocation:
- Select Processing > Allocations > Allocation Control.
- On the Actuals or Budget tab, select the Dimension Override And Weight Builder tab.
- Click Create.
- On the Dimension Override tab of the Dimension Override And Weight Builder wizard specify this information:
- Dimension Override And Weight Builder
- Specify the name of the dimension override and weight builder.
- Description
- Specify a description for the dimension override and weight builder.
- In the Select Dimension Overrides section, specify which dimension overrides to allocate to. You can specify an existing posting, summary or node value.
Note: The options available are dependent on which dimension overrides are available for the selected FEG. You must also specify the corresponding dimension override for each option that you select.
For Accounting Entity, you can also specify this information:
- Accounting Entity
- When selecting an Accounting Entity as a dimension override, you also have the option to create and select a custom group. See Creating custom group overrides.
- Click Next.
- On the Weight Data Source tab, specify this information:
- Source Ledger
- Specify the source ledger for the weight data source. The default value is the ledger that is specified in the FEG core ledger.
- Source System Code
- Optionally, specify a code for a specific weight data source.
- Source Amount Type
- Specify the amount type of the weight values to include.
- Scenario
- Select the parent or child scenario of the weight data to retrieve.
- Year To Date
- Select this check box to include period balances up to the current period.
- Life To Date
- Select this check box to include life to date balances up to the current period.
- On the Weight Data Source tab, specify the source of the weight data.
- Select a value for each of the applicable dimensions based on the weight data. The weight values that are returned are based on the specified dimension overrides and weight data source.
- Specify a posting, summary, or node value.
- Leave the Dimension field blank and select the check box Treat blank <Dimension> as empty. This check box only applies to non-required dimensions. The period of the weight data is the same as the period of the allocation run.
- Click Next.
- The Summary tab shows the specified dimension overrides and the weight data source.
- Select Finish.
