Budget edit dimension hierarchy maintenance
When budget editing is active, dimension hierarchy can be changed. For example, you can add new projects or accounts, or enable budget edits on additional dimension elements. These changes affect the budget group information on the template.
Follow the recommended steps to ensure that the total obligations on the budget group and the budgeting information are updated accordingly. If dimension changes occur on a regular basis, then you can schedule the process so that it is run automatically.

Process | Description |

Suspend budget editing by suspending the Budget Edit Queue or through the Budget Edit Configuration | Suspend budget editing to temporarily prevent transaction releases and updates to obligations while changes are being made. This process ensures that the budgeting information is correctly updated. While budget editing is suspended, you can still create transactions. However, any transaction released during this period will be placed in a queue and processed once budget editing resumes. |

Process pending dimensions on the budget template | Pending budget dimensions must be processed after any dimension hierarchy changes.
You can perform dimension changes at any time. The new budget edit dimensions are not edited until you run the Process Pending action. |
