Sample custom computes for allocation scenarios
Custom computes are a valuable resource to create allocations rules for specific business scenarios. However, creating custom computes is complex and time-consuming, leading to inefficiencies and potential errors. Sample custom computes and fact sheets are available to simplify the process of creating custom computes for various allocation scenarios.
A simplified and guided approach is available to create custom computes with detailed examples and instructions. Each sample includes a definition and usage information as reference.
- A Sample Custom Compute link is available on the Allocation Lines page and on the Allocations navigation menu.
- The list of sample custom computes can be used as reference to create your own custom compute statements.
- Copy and paste the relevant compute definition, then edit it to your requirements.
- See the related fact sheets for more information and guidance.
Use these steps to view the list of all sample custom computes:
- Select .
- In the list of sample custom computes, select one based on a specific scenario.
- Click the link in the Fact Sheet column to review the details to determine if the scenario meets your needs.
- Copy the compute definition to use as a starting point and paste it into your new custom compute.
- Customize the compute definition to fit your requirements.
Use these steps from an allocation line to view sample source compute statement:
- Open an allocation line with Compute in the From Post Option field or in the To Post Option field.
- In the Compute Options section, select the link Sample Custom Computes link to view the list of sample source compute statements.
Use these steps from an allocation line to view sample weight compute statement:
- Open an allocation line with Split in the From Post Option field or in the To Post Option field.
- In the To Mapping tab or the From Mapping tab, select the override option. You can select an option for one, two, or many dimensions.
- Click the Sample Custom Computes link to view
the samples.
A list of relevant sample custom computes that are based on the override selection is displayed.
