Creating customers

  1. Select Financials > Receivables > Customers.
  2. On the Customers list, click Create.
  3. Specify this information:
    Customer Group
    Select the customer group.
    Customer Company Group
    Select a customer company group to add one ore more company records when creating a customer.
    Customer Name
    Specify the customer name.
    Customer Reference
    Specify the customer reference.
    Legal Name
    Specify the legal name.
    Search Name
    Specify the search name.
  4. On the Contact Information section, specify this information:
    Contact
    Specify the name of the primary contact for this customer. If this field is blank, then the contact that is specified for the customer is the default.
    Contact Title
    Specify the position of the customer contact.
    Phone Country Code/Phone Number/Extension
    Select a phone country code and specify the number and extension.
    Email Address
    Specify the email address for the customer contact.
    URL Address
    Specify the URL for the customer contact.
    Social Network ID
    Specify Twitter ID and Social Network ID two to five values
  5. On the Tax Information section, specify this information:
    Tax Identification Type
    Select the tax identification type for the company.
    Tax ID
    Specify the tax ID.
    Check Digit Type
    Select the check digit type.
    Default VAT Registration Number
    Specify the default value-added tax identification number.
    Default VAT Registration Country
    Select the country for which the default value-added tax identification number applies to.
    Electronic Government ID
    Specify the electronic ID issued by the government.
  6. On the Credit Information section, specify this information:
    Credit Agency Code
    Specify the credit relationship code.
    Credit Agency Date
    Select the credit agency date.
    Credit Agency Number
    Specify the credit agency number.
    Credit Limit
    Specify in customer group currency the total amount of credit to be extended to this customer. If this field is blank, then the credit limit that is specified for the customer is the default.
    Order Limit
    Specify in customer group currency the total order amount to place on this customer. If this field is blank, then the order limit that is specified for the customer is the default.
    Hold Code
    Specify the hold code to prevent the customer from placing orders. If this field is blank, then the hold code that is assigned to the customer is the default.
  7. On the Vendor Information section, specify this information:
    Vendor Group
    Specify the related vendor group if this customer is also a vendor.
    Vendor
    Specify the related vendor if this customer is also a vendor.
  8. On the Address tab, specify this information:
    Country
    Select the country.
    Street Address
    Specify the street address for the customer.
    City
    Specify the city for the customer.
    State/Province
    Select the state or province for the customer.
    Post Code
    Specify the postal code for the customer.
    County/District
    Specify the county or district for the customer.
    Type
    Select the address type. Options are Post Office Box, Street, Military, or Undefined.
    Latitude
    Specify the latitude of the location.
    Longitude
    Specify the longitude of the location.
    Altitude
    Specify the altitude of the location.
  9. Click Save.
    The Bill To and the Attachments tabs are now available. If group level processing is selected for processing electronic funds transfers for the associated customer group, the Banks, Funds Transfer, and Funds Transfer Customer tabs are also visible.
