Replicating and loading data into Birst
When updates to the Data Catalog and Compass object definitions are registered, replication sets are sent to the Data Lake. The data in the Data Lake then becomes available for ingestion and processing into Infor Birst.
These are the types of data loads:
- Full load - All data is replicated from the application to the Data Lake, and the complete data set is loaded and processed in Infor Birst. This is performed during the initial load or when a purge and reload of data is required.
- Incremental load - Only incremental updates are replicated to the Data Lake. The updates are then loaded and processed in Infor Birst. This occurs after the initial full load and can be scheduled for subsequent updates.
Starting with the 2023.10 feature release, the Data Flow to Analytics Full Load and Incremental Load IPA Workflows are available in the FSM application to perform replication and orchestration tasks.
Before you can run the Data Flow to Analytics workflows, ensure that these processes have been completed:
- Initial setup of IPA was completed in the tenant
- Any scheduled Birst orchestration must be turned off
