Adding production feedback

Use this procedure to specify the finished good quantity produced, components used, and burden costs accrued.

Production feedback cannot be performed if the work order has an off-site hold code.

  1. Sign in as Work Order and select Work Orders.
  2. Select a work order from the list.
  3. Select Actions > Start Production Feedback.

    When you begin production feedback, these fields default to these quantities:

    • Component planned quantities default to the Actual Quantity field.
    • Estimated burden costs default to the burden fields.
    • Estimated byproduct quantities default to the Actual Quantity field during byproduct production feedback.
  4. Click Save.
  5. On the Finished Goods tab, specify the finished good and shrinkage quantity produced by the work order.

    The finished good quantity is the quantity that is produced by this work order. The shrinkage quantity is the amount of shrinkage that occurs when the total quantity of all of the components used is less than the quantity of the finished goods produced. All components and the finished goods must use the same unit of measure.

    You must specify the finished good quantity before production feedback can begin. If you try adding a finished good quantity that is less than the planned quantity, a message is displayed on Split From Work Order prompting you to select whether to split the work order.

  6. Click Save.
  7. Complete the fields on these available tabs:
    Tab Description
    Burdens To specify the burden costs
    Components To specify the component quantities used
    Byproducts To specify other products that are built as a result of this work order process

    To specify the byproduct quantities, click Byproduct Production Feedback.
    Comments To optionally add comments
  8. If the finished good is tracked by bin, lot, serial number, or multiple unit of measure, the appropriate action is displayed on the Finished Goods tab. Select from these actions and specify the quantity of finished goods:

  9. Optionally, if the finished good is serial-tracked and any serial-tracked components exist, you can cross-reference the component serial numbers to the serial number of the finished good.
  10. If the byproduct is tracked by bin, lot, serial number, or multiple units of measure, the appropriate action is displayed on the Byproducts tab. Select from these actions and specify the quantity of byproducts:

  11. If any component is tracked by bin, lot, serial number, or multiple unit of measure, the appropriate action is displayed on the Components tab. Select from these actions and specify the quantity of components:

  12. Click Save.
  13. Run Production Feedback Update for the work order.
