Creating and updating manual work orders
Use this procedure to define finished goods, byproducts, burden rates, and components on a manual work order. You cannot assign a burden to a work order that is in an unreleased or released state.
- Select Work Orders.
- Click Create.
- On the Finished Goods tab, complete the fields that apply to the production of the finished good on this work order.
-
On the Burdens tab, create a burden record, or specify the burdens that are
associated with this work order:
- Code
- Select the burden code. The burden code identifies a burden with cost and rate information and is used to determine costs and inventory item costs that are associated with a production process.
- Flat Amount
- Specify the estimated amount for flat amount burdens.
- Amount Per Unit
- Specify the estimated amount per unit that is used in the calculation of finished good burdens and unit burdens.
- Multiplier
- Specify the multiplier used along with amount per unit and quantity for calculation of unit burdens.
- Percent
- Specify the estimated percentage. This percentage is used with inventory cost to calculate the percentage of inventory cost burdens.
-
On the Components tab, specify the components that are used to create the finished
good for this work order:
- Item
- Select a component item.
- Location
- Select the inventory location or the off-site location.
- Type
- Select the component type. Use this field to define the component as an inventory component. Inventory components are used in the production of the finished good, a packaging component, an off-site component, or a rework component.
- Planned Quantity
- Specify the planned quantity of the component. This quantity is deducted from the stock-on-hand of the component item.
- Waste
- Select the waste quantity for this component. The waste quantity is the cost of damaged or discarded components that are purchased and are not used as part of the cost of goods that are sold.
- On the Byproducts tab, select the defined product.
- On the Comments tab, attach assembly instructions or add other comments.
- Click Save.
- Click Release.
