Scheduling production in batches

  1. Select Create Processing Reports > Warehouse Batch Work Order Scheduling.
  2. Specify this information:
    Date Used
Select the date for the work order scheduling process. Select Date Needed or Production Start Date to indicate which scheduling period includes specific demand.
    Through Date
Select the date through which to schedule work orders.
    Plus Number Days
Specify the number of working days to add to the current date to determine the date through which to schedule work orders.
    Firm Allocation
Select whether the finished good is allocated to the document demand from the originating source. The finished good is allocated during these instances:
    • When a work order is created for one sales order or requisition
    • When a separate work order is created for each demand
Select Yes to proceed without allocating the finished good to the source document. Selecting Yes denotes the allocation is firm so that batch allocations quantities cannot be recalled from the finished good demand.

Select No to allocate the finished good later.

    Work Order Status
Select the status of work orders that are created from the production scheduling process. Work orders can be created in these states: Unreleased, Released, Exploded, or In Production. A default status can be created in Inventory Control.
    Production Dates
Specify a default value for the first work order. Work orders are created either from the selection or the release process of production scheduling.

Select the production start date or specify the number of working days from the current date.

    Work Order Per Demand
Select whether to group demands for the same item on one work order or create a separate work order for each demand. If you create separate work orders, the work order is linked to the specific customer order or requisition that was created in the Item and Order Billing or Requisitions applications.
    Capacity Impact
    • Select Multiple Same Date to create multiple work orders with the same production dates.
    • Select Multiple Increment Date to create multiple work orders with incremented production dates.
    • Select Single To Capacity to create single work orders to capacity.
If an individual demand exceeds capacity, then multiple work orders are created, regardless of the selection.
    Work Order
Select the work order that is assigned to the first work order from a selection or release process in production scheduling. This field is required if work order numbers are manually assigned for the production facility.

This field must be blank if work order numbers are automatically assigned for the production facility.

  3. In the Items section, select up to 18 finished goods to schedule for production.
  4. In the Report Distribution section, select a distribution list and export type for Warehouse Batch Work Order Scheduling Report.
  5. Click Submit.
