Creating finance dimension security groups

Use this procedure to create a security group that defines finance dimensions to which actors have access:

Sign in using one of these roles:
- ApplicationAdministrator_ST
- FinancialsAdministrator_ST
- GLController_ST
- FinancialBusinessAnalyst_ST
- ProjectManager_ST
Select Global Ledger > Setup > Global Ledger Security Setup and select the Finance Dimension Security Groups menu option for the desired dimension.
Click Create, specify this information, and then click Save:

Finance Dimension Security Group

Specify a unique name for the security group.

Description

Specify a description for the security group.
Define one or more members for the security group. Members of a finance dimension security group are summary dimensions to which actors of the security group have access.
1. On the Finance Dimension Security Group page, on the Members tab, click Create.
2. Specify this information, then click Save:

  Select a structure that includes the summary dimension you want to add as a member.

  Select a summary dimension to add as a member. Actors of this security group have access to this summary dimension and any child dimensions.
Note: You can copy all members from one security group to another of the same type.

Caution:

Users must be added to a security group of this type before the data is secured.

Note: Finance dimensions that are included in security groups are displayed in the finance enterprise group maintenance with a notification symbol and hover text saying Structure is used in a security group. You can select DrillAround > Used in Security Groups to view information about the security group of which the selected structure is a member.
