Adding users to security and business groups

After security groups are defined, users are linked to existing security groups and business groups using actor context records.

A single Actor Context record can be defined for each actor and linked to each security group or business group. Each record identifies the actor name, key field that identifies the type of group, and value that identifies the group name. Each record must have only one value identifying the security group or business group name. Actors can only be secured into one security group for each security group type.

Use this procedure to view and assign an actor context record to groups manually.
Note: You can also use Infor Spreadsheet Designer to create and import the records.

See Mass-loading actor context records using Infor Spreadsheet Designer.

  1. Sign in using one of these roles:
    • ApplicationAdministrator_ST
    • FinancialsAdministrator_ST
    • GLController_ST
    • FinancialBusinessAnalyst_ST
    • ProjectManager_ST
  2. Use this step to view existing security or business group actor context records for an actor:
    1. Select Global Ledger > Setup > Global Ledger Security Setup > Actor Context List.
    2. Filter the Actor Context list by the Actor field to show all context property records for the actor.
Each record displays a Key Field that identifies the type of group, for example, AccountingEntitySecurityGroup, and Value that identifies the group name.
  3. To add a user to a group, select Global Ledger > Setup > Global Ledger Security Setup and select the type of group to which you want to add the user. For example, Finance Dimension Security Groups.
  4. Open the group for which to add Actor Context Records and click the Actors Assigned To This Group tab.
  5. Click Create.
  6. In the Actor field, select the actor and then click Save.
