Creating a VAT return report

  1. Sign in as Process Server Administrator and select Configuration > Service Definitions. Open and enable TaxReportService.
  2. Set up a tax entity:
    1. Sign in as Application Administrator and select Payables > Administration.
    2. On the Tax tab, click the Entities link.
    3. Open a tax entity.
    4. Specify the Tax Identification.
    5. On the VAT/ Intrastat tab, clear the Intrastat Identification check box.
    6. Specify the VAT Registration Country/Jurisdiction and VAT Registration Number fields.
    7. Select EUR in the Default Filing Currency field.
    8. On the Entity Tax Code Detail tab, create an entity tax code.

  3. Create a tax calendar.
  4. On the VAT pane, click the Report Maintenance link.
  5. Open a record.
  6. Create tax reporting lines and codes using the entity tax code that you created.
  7. Set up customer records in Receivables:
    1. Select Receivables > Customers.
    2. Create a customer with a UK address.
    3. On the Company Customers tab, open a company customer.
    4. Specify the customer that you created.
    5. On the Processing Rules tab, specify the tax code that you created.
    6. In the Value Added Tax section, complete the fields.

  8. Select Payables > Vendors.
  9. Create a vendor.
  10. Create invoices in Receivables, Billing, and Payables:
    1. Select Receivables > Invoices.
    2. Create a receivables invoice.
    3. Specify the tax codes that you created in Report Maintenance.
    4. Select Other Modules > Billing > Invoices.
    5. Create a billing invoice.
    6. Specify the tax codes that you created in Report Maintenance.
    7. Select Payables > Invoices.
    8. Create a payables invoice.
    9. Specify the tax codes that you created in Report Maintenance.
  11. Select Payables > Administration and click the Tax tab.
  12. On the VAT pane, click the Report Maintenance link.
  13. Open a record.
  14. To view the tax transactions, click the Tax Transactions tab.
  15. Select Payables > Administration and click the Tax tab.
  16. On the VAT pane, click the Return Report link.
  17. Complete the fields.
  18. Click Submit.
  19. To view if the report is complete, click Notifications.
  20. Sign in as Process Server Administrator and select Administration > Work Units > Work Units. Verify that the work unit is generated.
  21. Verify the BODs in ION Desk.
  22. In LSP, generate and submit the VAT return.
