Responses to reverse auctions
For suppliers, the event line summary shows a column with the lowest bid for event lines set to show the lowest bid amount. On the event line response, a field shows the lowest bid. If there currently is no low bid, then the field is blank. A no charge low bid shows .00. Text indicates that the supplier must specify a price that is less than or equal to the lowest bid. When the supplier specifies a unit price, it is compared to the low bid. Depending on the setting for Lowest Bid Option, the specified unit price must be less than or equal to the lowest bid. If not, then an error message indicates that the unit price must be less than or equal to the lowest bid. A response that is higher than the lowest bid is not accepted. If the supplier creates the lowest bid, it will not register in the system as the lowest bid until the event response is submitted.
For buyers who create manual responses, reverse auction lines must be less than or equal to the current lowest bid. This depends on the Lowest Bid Option setup. Event response forms that are created by a buyer do not show the current lowest bid.
