What are Infor Financials & Supply Management Application services?

The FSM Service code in a Financials & Supply Management application defines an event within the application that, when it occurs, ultimately creates a workunit. A workunit is a data set that allows Infor Process Automation to start an associated process and track its execution. A service is triggered as the by-product of a user performing a business action in an application, for example, adding or updating a purchase order.

A Service Definition is an Infor Process Automation entity that allows an application service to create a work unit associated with an IPA Service Definition. A service definition has specific requirements, such as an application code name that corresponds to the service name and an initiating event. An IPA service definition can invoke one or more processes. Multiple processes can be processed at the same time.

The services that are delivered with FSM Application are available from Infor Process Automation and in Infor Process Designer. All service definitions are delivered as disabled in the Financials & Supply Management FSM ION Connector installation. You must enable them before they can be used in Infor Process Automation.
