Creating new item proposals

The RQNewItemProposal_ST security class must be attached to the Requester role so that the requester can view and create New Item Proposals.

  1. Sign in as Requester and select New Item Proposals > Propose A New Item.
  2. Specify this information:
    Name
    Specify a name for the proposal header.
    Description
    Specify a description for the proposal header.
    Date
    Optionally, specify a date.
  3. Click Next.
  4. Click Propose Item and specify this information:
    Item Name
    Specify an item name.
    Item Description
    Specify an item description.
    Product Justification or ROI
    Provide product justification or return on investment, or both.
    My Item Number
    Specify an item number for the proposed item.
    Unit Cost For Low Unit Of Measure
    Manufacturer Number
    Specify a manufacturer number.
    GTIN
    Specify the Global Trade Item Number.
    Latex Free
    Select this check box if this is a latex free item.
    Product Service Line
    Specify a product service line.
    Unit Cost
    Required. Specify a unit cost.
    Expected Monthly Usage
    Specify the expected monthly usage.
    Current Contract
    Select the current contract.
  5. In the Units Of Measure section, specify the unit of measure to use for buying or for issues.
  6. In the Items Being Replaced section, specify the respective item and manufacturer numbers.
  7. Click Next.
  8. Optionally, add an attachment with additional details.
  9. If a set of instructions with questions has been defined on the Item Lifecycle Management Group for New Item Proposal, questions are answered as part of the creation process. Some of the questions can be set to be required. The New Item Proposal cannot be submitted by the Requester until all required questions are answered. The questions and answers can then be viewed by the Coordinator and New Item Proposal Reviewers.
  10. On the Summary tab, click Submit Item Proposal.
  11. To view a list of all proposals or to submit proposals, select New Item Proposals > My New Item Proposals.
