Manually creating requisitions
- Sign in as Requester, and select Create Requisition.
- Select the company, requester, and requesting location for the requisition.

On the Header Details tab,
specify this information:
- From Company
- If your company has relationships with related companies, then select the company from which the item is coming. Intercompany relationships are relationships between companies that let transactions pass between them.
- From Location
- Select the source location that is associated with the From Company. The location is the inventory location that supplies the items or the purchase order ship-to location that receives the items.
- Location Rule
- Select the location rule. Location can define how to source the goods during the allocation process. You can assign location rules at the Requesting Location, on the Header tab, or on the Miscellaneous subtab of Lines.
- Single Document to a Purchase Order
- Select whether to create one purchase order from
one requisition. If you select Yes,
then each vendor can create one purchase order.
During requester setup, select whether the requester is set to Yes.
- Requested Delivery Date
- Select the date on which the items are to be delivered. Requisitions with the oldest requested delivery date having backorders are allocated before later dated requisitions.
- Deliver To
- Specify additional delivery instructions, such as the name of the person receiving the items. The information that is specified is displayed online and is printed on the delivery ticket.
- Priority
- If you allocate by priority, you can assign a priority number to the requisition. The allocation method and basis are defined in Company.
- Quote Required
- Select this check box whether the buyer will get quotes for this requisition before it becomes a purchase order.
- Print Requisition
- Select this check box to print the requisition when you run Print Requisitions. The default value for this field is based on the approval that is assigned to the requester but can be overridden when creating the requisition.
- Requisition Description
- Provide a requisition description.
- In the Global section, select the document type code.

On the Line
Defaults tab, specify this information:
- Distribution Account
- Select a distribution account for the requisition. Click the icon to define details of the account using Distribution Account.
- Vendor
- Select the suggested vendor code for the requisition. The
suggested vendor prints on the requisition when you run Print Requisitions. The vendor can be changed
when a purchase order is created. The vendor must be previously defined in
Vendor.

- Purchase From
- Select the suggested purchase from location for the specified vendor. Vendors can have multiple purchase from locations. The purchase from location code prints on the requisition when you run Print Requisitions. The purchase from location can be changed when a purchase order is created for the requisition. The purchase from location code must be defined in Vendor Location.
- Currency Code
- Select the currency code for the
requisition.
You cannot select a currency code if the Vendor or Purchase From fields are blank.
- Buyer
- Select the user-defined buyer code that is defined in Buyer.
- Taxable
- Select the check box to indicate that this item is taxable when it is purchased for this location.
- Sourcing Event Required
- Select this check box if Strategic Sourcing is required. For Strategic Sourcing users, if this check box is selected, the purchase
order processing is bypassed for the requisition and a sourcing event is
created.
By selecting required at the requisition header level, it is the default value for any lines added to the requisition.
To select this check box, Strategic Sourcing must be implemented. Clear this check box to use normal purchase order processing for the requisition.
You cannot use Requisition to send a requisition to Strategic Sourcing if the Vendor field is populated with a value that originated on Vendor Default Hierarchy. Instead, clear this check box and use Manage Purchase Requests to send the requisition to Strategic Sourcing.
- Comment Code
- Select a previously defined comment that applies to the entire requisition.
- Bill Code
- Select the type of bill code for the requisition.
- PO Code
- Select the PO code.
- Commodity Code
- Select the commodity code.
- Use the Procedure Information Defaults tab to specify default information on requisition headers. This functionality is used for implants or other devices that are used during a medical procedure. This tab is only available if the Allow Display of Procedure Info field is selected on the requester record.
- Select the Comments tab to add comments to the requisition line.
- To add lines to the requisition, select the Lines tab and click Create.

Select the type of bill code for each line you create:
- Item
- Select the item to add to the requisition.
- Item Description
- Specify a description of the item. The default value of the field is defined by the item selected in the Item field.
- Quantity
- Specify the number of the item you want to request.
- UOM
- Select a valid unit of measure for the item. The value may populate depending on the item you selected.
- Unit Cost
- Specify the transaction unit cost.
- Currency
- Select the transaction currency code.
- Vendor Item
- Select a vendor item for the item that is selected in the Item field.
- Distribution Code
- Select a distribution code for requisition line.
- Item Entry Code
- Select the item entry code for the requisition line.
- Requested Delivery Date
- Select a range of dates for the item to be delivered.
- Priority
- If you allocate by priority, you can assign a priority number to the requisition line. The allocation method and basis are defined in Company.
- Create Purchase Order
- Select this check box to create a purchase order for the requisition line when it is created.
- Item Type
- Select the type of the item in the requisition line.
- Cost Option
- Select the cost option of the requisition line item.
- Override Cost
- Indicate whether to override any existing cost options for the requisition with the value that is selected in the Cost Option field.
- Service Code
- Select the service code for requisition line item:
- Vendor
- Select the suggested vendor code for the requisition line. The suggested vendor prints on the requisition when you run Print Requisitions. The vendor can be changed when a purchase order is created. The vendor must be previously defined in Vendor.
- Purchase From
- Select the suggested purchase from location for the entered vendor. Vendors can have multiple purchase from locations. The purchase from location code prints on the requisition when you run Print Requisitions. As with the vendor code, the purchase from location can be changed when a purchase order is created for the requisition. The purchase from location code must be defined in Vendor Location.
- PO Code
- Select a previously defined purchase order code that applies to the requisition line.
- Buyer
- Select a buyer for the requisition line.
- Tax Code
- Select the tax code used to determine if this item is taxable when purchased at this location. The tax data that is extracted from the tax file is also based on this tax code.
- Taxable
- Select whether an item is taxable when purchased
for this location.
Select the check box if this item is taxable when it is purchased for this location.
Clear the check box if this item is exempt (default value). - Inspection Required
- Select whether an item requires inspection.
- Certification Required
- Select whether an item requires certification.
- Bill Code
- Select the type of bill code for the requisition line.
- Contract
- Select a contract that the requisition line applies to.
- Major Purchase Class
- Select a major purchasing class for the requisition line. Purchasing classes are set up using Purchasing Class.
- Minor Purchase Class
- Select a minor purchasing class for the requisition line. Purchasing classes are set up using Purchasing Class.
- GTIN
- Select a global trade item number for the requisition line item.
- Manufacturer Code/Division
- Select a manufacturer code or division for the requisition line item.
- Manufacturer Number
- Specify a manufacturer number for the requisition line item. The value may populate depending on the manufacturer code you selected.
- Sourcing Event Required
- For Strategic Sourcing users, if you select this check box, you bypass PO processing for the requisition and create a sourcing event. If you select the check box, Strategic Sourcing must be implemented first. See the Strategic Sourcing User Guide.
- Commodity Code
- Select a commodity code for the requisition line item.
- Comment Code
- Select a previously defined comment that applies to the requisition line.
- Deliver From Company
- If your company has intercompany relationships defined with other related companies, select from the company from which the item is delivered (the source company).
- Deliver From Location
- Select a location for the specified source company from which to deliver.
- Location Rule
- Select a location rule for the specified source company. Location rules allow you to define how to source the goods during the allocation process.
- Deliver To
- Specify delivery instructions for the requisition line item.
- Fill or Kill Flag
- Select whether to fill or cancel (kill) unwanted backorders for inventoried items.
- Base Unit Cost
- Specify the base unit cost for the requisition line item.
- Conversion Rate
- Specify the conversion rate for the requisition line item.
- Line Type
- Select a previously defined global type for the
requisition line.
Line types can be defined using Global Line Type.
- Select the Add On Charges tab to select an add on charge code to add to the requisition line item.

Select the
Comments tab to add comments
that apply to the requisition line.
You can select multiple comment types when adding a single comment.
- Click Create.

Select one or more comment type check boxes to indicate where the comment is
printed or displayed:
- Print On Internal Documents
- Comments are printed in the purchase order document after the purchase order record is issued.
- Print On Purchase Order
- Comments are printed on the purchase order after the purchase order is issued.
- Print On Purchase Order Trailer
- Comments are printed in the purchase order document after the purchase order record is issued.
- Print On Receiving Document
- Comments are printed in the receiving and delivery documents after the receipt record is printed.
- Print On Pick List
- Comments are printed on the Warehouse pick list.
- Print On Delivery Ticket
- Comments are printed in the receiving and delivery documents after the receipt record is printed.
- Print On Requisition
- Comments are printed on the requisition.
- Display Only
- Comments are displayed in the list of comments only.

Specify this information:
- Title
- Provide a title for the comment file.
- File
- Attach a file.
- Text
- Provide the text for the comment.

Select the Distributions tab to add requisition line distributions.
Specify this information:
- Distribution Account
- Select a default distribution account for the requisition. You can define details of the account using Distribution Account.
- Asset Template
- To define the distribution that is based on an existing asset template, select a template for the distribution.
- Asset
- Select an asset for the defined asset template.
- Distribution Percent, Distribution Quantity, Distribution Amount
- Specify the distribution percent, quantity, or amount for the requisition line distribution in its respective field. You can only specify a value for one of these fields.
- After adding requisition lines, select the Add On Charge Spreads tab to create a spread for an add on cost for the requisition.
- Select the User Fields tab to create user fields for the requisition.
- Click Save.
- Click Actions > Release to release the requisition.
