Purchase order issuance

Issuance is a term that is used to describe the process of sending a purchase order to a vendor. Issuance includes all of the possible methods for delivering the purchase order to the vendor.

  • Purchase orders can be issued using email, EDI, or paper, or you can opt not to issue them at all.
  • Both the online and the mass issue pages can be used to issue the draft and final copies of the purchase order.
  • The original and revised issue methods can be used to include revisions on purchase orders.
  • A final copy of a purchase order can only be issued after it is released.
  • A draft copy can be issued anytime before it is released and as many times as required.
  • Changes to the purchase order after the final copy is issued are considered revisions.
