Write off or archive receipts

Use Open Receipt Archive to write off a receipt, archive a receipt, or both. You can archive landed tax and spread AOC. You can also process receipt lines that have not been matched and any receipt lines that have not been fully matched or have extra quantities on the receipt line.


Posting option	Description
Write off	Global ledger postings are created for receipts that are written off but the receipts are not removed from the matching pool. The PO Receipt Accrual account is debited. The Inventory Receipt Archival account is credited. Written-off receipts are still available in the match process. Non-inventory items cannot be written off. Remove them using the archive or write off and archive process.
Archive	Receipts that are archived are removed from the matching pool. The receipt is closed, the archived quantity is updated on the purchase order line, and the purchase order line is closed if the received quantity is equal to the PO line quantity. No global ledger accounts are generated.
Write off and archive	Receipts that are written off and archived, for both inventory and non-inventory items have global ledger postings and are removed from the match pool. The Inventory Receipt Archival account for inventory items is credited The PO Receipt Accrual account is debited The PO Line Expense account for non-inventory items is debited. The Receipt write off account is credited If the Underbill account is populated, then the Inventory Receipt Archived account and Receipt Write off account are overridden.
