Creating allocation line weight compute statements
- Select Processing > Allocations > Allocation Control.
- On the Actuals tab or on the Budgets tab, open an allocation control record.
- On the Allocations tab, open an allocation record.
- On the Lines tab, open an allocation line to create the allocation line weight compute statement.
-
On the To
Mapping tab, select a field to show the Custom Compute:
- Summary/Group Weight Compute
- Manual Override Weight Compute
- Group Override Weight Compute
- Click Create.
-
Specify this information:
- Custom Compute
- Specify the name of the custom compute statement.
- Description
- Specify a description for the compute statement.
- Effective Date
- Specify the date the compute statement goes into effect.
- Business Class
- Specify the business class for the compute statement. The
summary or group weight compute statement is defined in the multiple
override dimension business class. For example, the
AccountingUnit
business class. The manual override weight compute statement is defined in theAllocationLineDetail
business class. The group override weight compute statement is defined in theAllocationLineOverrideSetDetail
business class.
-
On the Editor tab, select the Compute field. Specify this information:
- Field Name
- Specify a label for the field. It cannot begin with a lowercase letter nor can it contain spaces.
- Default Label
- Specify the default label for the field. To add translated labels, click the globe icon and specify local translations.
- Field Type, Size, Decimals
- Select the field type, and if applicable, specify the size and
number of decimals. Follow the field size of the retrieved field. If
the
GeneralLedgerTotal
balances are retrieved, then the setup is decimal size 20.2. - Definition
- Specify the formula in this field. To read balances from the
GeneralLedgerTotal
for weight values, the compute statement must reference a custom total using the syntax total.See Custom totals and Referencing custom totals in a compute statement.
-
Click Save.
Return to the allocation line and assign the custom compute statement.
If one of these compute statements is not assigned, then a weight of 1 is assigned to each override:
- A summary or group weight compute statement
- A manual override weight compute statement
- A group override weight compute statement
The same split amount is used for all overrides.
