Commitments and encumbrance processing
When the encumbrance option of an Infor system code is set to Track or Track And Edit, a commitment or
encumbrance record is created. The record is created as part of the transaction record.
A commitment record is used during budget editing as part of the calculation to
calculate the remaining budget balance.
These transactions generate and update encumbrance or commitment records when the system code is set to Track or Track And Edit. When Track is used, commitments are created and tracked. When Track and Edit is used, commitments are created and budgets are edited.
