Custom compute statements
A custom compute statement is a user-defined formula that can be used to derive the computation of an allocation. The equation consists of field names, operation symbols, and numeric values.
Use custom compute statements to derive calculations when allocations require the application of formulas that cannot be accomplished with the available tables or calculations.
These are the types of custom compute statements:
- Allocation line source compute
This method is used to determine the source or calculates the allocation transaction amount.
- Allocation line weight compute
This method is used to determine the weights or ratios when allocating amounts to multiple accounting strings.
Custom compute statements can reference a custom total to read business totals. The totals can be used in the allocation line compute, summary weight compute, group weight compute, manual override weight compute, or group override weight compute. See Custom totals.
