Activating templates with selective budget groups

Budget groups are generated for account strings that contain this data:

  • Unreleased commitments and encumbrances, unreleased change request lines, and released GL journals.
  • Budget data if the Generate Budget Groups With Budget option is selected.
  • Transaction history, if the Generate Budget Groups From Transaction History option is selected.

    See Transactions for selective activation.

  1. The specified value in the Maximum Budget Group To Be Generated From Each Option field is used to determine the total number of budget groups for the account strings with budget data and transaction history.
  2. If both options are selected, then budget groups with budgets are prioritized and the remaining budgets? are generated for the budget groups with transaction history.
  3. If none of the options are selected, budget groups are generated for account strings with unreleased obligations and released GL journals.

Write an introduction for the table so that the user knows how to use it.

Budget groups, with the Include in Budget Edit set to Yes or Budget Identifier assigned and not generated during the activation, are created when transactions are entered.

During the selective template activation, the budget groups are generated first and then initiates the Initialize Lazy process to calculate the obligations for each budget group. When the template is in a Ready state, verify that the Selective Initialize field on all budget groups is set to Yes. Optionally, you can manually run the initialize process. .
