Currency revaluation
Currency revaluation is the process of checking summarized transaction currency amounts against current rates. If the rates have changed, then the amounts are adjusted to match the new daily or period rates. Offsetting amounts are created for the unrealized gain or unrealized loss account. Revaluation occurs only for accounts that are flagged to revalue.
- Currency revaluation occurs in
Global Ledger for the detail accounts that you
flag for revaluation.
Transaction amounts can be revalued for functional, alternate, and enterprise currencies. Use the daily or period rates that are in effect at the time of the revaluation.
- In Global Ledger, currency revaluation is performed for a reporting basis. You can revalue amounts for all of the ledgers and accounting entities that are associated with the reporting basis. You can revalue amounts for a specific entity, entity group, or ledger. You can revalue amounts for a period such as current, previous, and next, or for a date range. You can also select which currencies to revalue.
