Recurring journal entry statuses
A process status and a journal entry status is assigned to each recurring journal entry to identify where the transaction is in the processing cycle.
The process status indicates whether a recurring journal entry has been interfaced to Global Ledger for posting. The journal entry status has two statuses: Released or Unreleased.
This table shows the statuses and the various scenarios where they are displayed:
Process status | Journal entry status | Description |
---|---|---|
Ready | Unreleased | This is the initial status of the recurring journal entry until the user considers it complete and releases the recurring journal entry. |
Ready | Released | This is the status required for an automatic zero or non automatic zero journal entry before the current month's journal entry can be journalized. |
Processed | Released | This is the status of recurring journal entry that has been journalized
or interfaced to Global Ledger for
posting. The current period must be closed for the core ledger to
process the next period's recurring journal entry. When the current period is closed, a non automatic zero journal entry changes to Ready and Released. |
Processed | Unreleased | This is the status of an automatic zero recurring journal entry that
has been journalized or interfaced to Global Ledger for posting. The current period must be closed
for the core ledger to process the next period's recurring journal
entry. When the current period is closed, an automatic zero recurring journal entry changes to Ready and Unreleased. |
Out of Range | Released | This is the status of a non-automatic zero recurring journal entry when the current company period is beyond the defined period range. |
Out of Range | Unreleased | This is the status of an automatic zero recurring journal entry when the current company period is beyond the defined period range. |
