Processing patient charges

Use these instructions to implement and process patient charges in Inventory Control.

You can collect patient charges using the hand-held terminal, then upload the charges to the host where you can track lost charges.

Processing patient charges consists of these tasks:

  • Load a patient demographic information interface file from an Admission, Discharge, Transfer (ADT) system. Use if you interface with an ADT.
  • Manually tracking chargeable and nonchargeable supply usage or using the hand-held terminal to collect charges from piggyback labels. Piggyback labels are affixed to cards that contain patient information.
  • Manually adding the supply usage information into the Infor system or uploading the data from the hand-held terminal.
  • Updating the Patient Charge Item table to match chargeable items with the charge prices.
  • Reporting, and optionally tracking, patient charges.
  • Extracting patient charges to create a file for manual or electronic interface. Use if you interface with a patient billing system.
  • Purging patient charges and patient information.
