Substitute items

For example, you can define blue mugs as substitute items for yellow mugs. Then, if you are out of yellow mugs, you will be prompted to substitute blue mugs. You can assign more than one substitute item per item master.

Item Substitution can be manual or automatic.

• For manual substitution if the item has substitutes assigned, you can choose which item to substitute.
• For automatic substitution, if the item has substitutes assigned, it will substitute the most prioritized item.

Substitutes can be associated with these categories:

• Company and Location

  If the substitute item is associated to Company and Location, it is only valid if transaction has the same company and location.

• Company

  If the substitute item is associated to Company only, it is valid for all location in that company.

• None

  If the substitute item is not associated to any company or location, it can be substituted with any item in the same item group.
