Supported 1099 forms

Templates from the current and previous years are available in the system. However, only templates up to two years before the report year are supported. For example, for report year 2023, you can use templates from 2021, 2022, or 2023.

The Mass Generate Form 1099 and Generate Form 1099 actions are only available for the supported templates. These actions depend on the report year. This list shows the intended audience for each action:

• Mass Generate Form 1099: Intended for individuals and the reporting authority. Three copies of 1099 forms are generated for the Internal Revenue Service Center, the recipient, and the payer.
• Generate Form 1099: Intended for individuals. Two copies of 1099 forms are generated for the recipient and the payer.

Email and printing output

Although the 1099 form templates are only supported up to two years before the report year, Email and Print actions are always available for forms that were generated previously. When a form is completed, it is stored in IDM and the email and print actions can be done anytime.
