Creating valid value pairs using custom group rules
- Select Financials > Global Ledger > Setup > Finance Enterprise Group > Maintenance.
- Open a finance enterprise group and click the Structure Relation tab.
- Open the new structure relation.
- Click the Relation Rules tab.
- Click Create.
- Specify this information:
- Description
- Specify a description for the relation rule.
- Dynamic Create
- Select this check box to dynamically create valid value pairs at the time a dimension value is added. For example, a new posting accounting unit or posting account that falls within the structure relation rule for the From or To summary value.
- Create Blank To Value For Each Valid From Value
- Select this check box if the From dimension can be specified without a value in the Relates To dimension.
- Default To Value
- Specify a value to default to. If a default value for any component of the finance structure is left blank during transaction creation, they will be updated with the default value specified.

On the By Group tab, specify this
information:
- From
- Select the From group value for the relation rule.
If you do not have any records to choose from, see Creating custom groups.
- Relates To
- Select the To group value for the relation rule.
If you do not have any records to choose from, see Creating custom groups.
- Any To Value Allowed
- Select this check box if the From value is valid for all To values.
- Allow Blank To Value
- If the Any To Value Allowed check box is selected, select this check box to allow blank To values.

Click Save.
Repeat the process until all relation rules are created.
- Close the form to return to Relation Rules.

To generate validation pairs for one rule at a time, select a
rule and select Actions > Generate Validation Pairs on the Relation Rules
tab.
To generate validation pairs for all of the relation rules, select Actions > Generate Validation Pairs Using Rules on the form.
- Click Next.

Click Finish.
When the job is finished, click the Details tab to see the valid value pairs that were generated.
