Identifiers

An identifier is a code or value that is assigned to an identifier type. This unique identifier can be a lockbox number, merchant number, or location name or number. Multiple identifiers can be assigned to each identifier type.

Using identifiers, you can set up a single processing rule to find multiple values in a designated field. Identifiers are referenced using these delivered keywords:

• AccountMatchesIdentifier
• DescriptionMatchesIdentifier
• RelatedReferenceMatchesIdentifier
• BankReferenceMatchesIdentifier
• TextReferenceMatchesIdentifier.

Each identifier can be associated with a posting account or an allocation code. An identifier can also be associated with an override category. Override categories are used instead of the processing rule default category if the identifier option is used on the processing rule.
