Creating asset locations

To run a property report or to use bar coding to track assets in physical inventory, you must specify locations.
  1. Select Financials > Asset Accounting > Asset System Setup > Asset Locations.
  2. Click Create.
  3. Specify this information:
    Asset Location
    Specify a location with asset that can be associated.
    Description
    Provide a description of the asset location.
    Status
    Select if this asset location is active or inactive.
    Note: You cannot inactivate an asset location that is still used by other classes.
    Detail Field Size Levels 1, 2, and 3
    Specify the two-digit size level that is used for location detail. The process uses these fields to parse the location detail bar code into its components.
  4. On the Address tab, specify this information:
    Country
    Select the country.
    Street Address
    Specify the street address for the location.
    City
    Specify the city for the location.
    State/Province
    Select the state or province for the location.
    Post Code
    Specify the postal code for the location.
    County/District
    Specify the county or district for the location.
    Type
    Select whether the type of the address is Post Office Box, Street, Military, or Undefined.
    Latitude
    Specify the latitude of the location.
    Longitude
    Specify the longitude of the location.
    Altitude
    Specify the altitude of the location.
    In the Tax Authority section, specify this information:
    District
    Select a district name. This field can be selected for the Property Report.
    County Or Locality
    Select a county or locality name. This field can be selected for the Property Report.
    Country
    Select a country name. This field can be selected for the Property Report.
    In the Communication section, specify this information:
    Contact Or Email
    Specify the name of a contact person for the location.
    Phone Country Code/Phone Number/Extension
    Select a country code and specify a complete telephone number with area code and an extension.
    Fax Country Code/Phone Number/Extension
    Select a country code and specify a complete fax number with area code and an extension.
    Telex
    Specify a telex number.
  5. Click Save.
    The Details tab is now available.
