Creating company customer cash application options
You must define the cash
application tolerances and discounts for your company customer.
- Select Financials > Receivables > Manage Customers > Company Customers.
- Click Create.

On the Cash Application tab, specify this information:
- Discount Adjustment Reason
- Select a discount reason code for earned discounts during manual and automatic cash application. If this field is blank, then the discount reason code in Default Codes is used.
- Grace Days
- Specify the number of grace days to the discount date during the automatic cash application discount. If this field is blank, then the payment grace days in Default Codes are used.
- Automatic Application Method
- Select whether the customer uses None, Algorithm, Balance Forward, Last Statement, Remittance, or User Defined Receivables processing. If this field is blank, then the application method in Default Codes is used.
- Automatic Application Code
- If you selected User Defined in Automatic Application Method and Open Item in Processing Method, then select an automatic cash application code.
- Processing Method
- Select whether the customer uses Balance Forward or Open Item processing.
- Detail Chargeback Dates
- Select whether the chargeback date is used for Invoice or Payment.
- Automatic Transaction Removal
- Select this check box to automatically write-off transactions.
- Automatic Cash Application
- Select this check box if the cash is automatically applied in Automatic Cash Application. If this field is blank, then the automatic cash application option in Default Codes is used.
- Automatically Apply Mixed Signed
- Select this check box if the transactions with mixed signed line items have applied the credit lines to the debit lines. This action is required during transaction interface or transaction release.
- Third Party Payer
- Select this check box if third party payments are used. The third party payment process is used to apply a payment to referenced open items.
- Print Chargebacks
- Select this check box to print the chargeback notices. If this field is blank, then the print chargeback notices option in Default Codes is used.

In the Application Tolerances section, specify this information:
- Maximum Shortage Amount/Percent
- Specify up to three company-based maximum shortage currency amounts or percentages. If you define more than one application tolerance, then you must define the maximum amounts in consecutive and ascending order. If these fields are blank, then the maximum amount in Default Codes is used.
- Reason Code
- Select up to three reason codes. These codes are the defaults for automatic adjustment tolerances during cash application. If these fields are blank, then the reason code in Default Codes is used.

In the Maximum Overage section, specify this information:
- Maximum Overage Amount/Percent
- Specify the company-based maximum overage currency amount or percentage. Maximum overage amounts are automatically adjusted during cash application.
- Reason Code
- Select a reason code. This code is used on automatic adjustment tolerances during cash application.
- Click Save.
