Creating an accounting unit zone

You can create accounting unit zones for any level of the accounting unit structure. A zone includes the accounting unit flagged as a zone and all of its children.

  1. Select Financials > Global Ledger > Setup > Finance Enterprise Group > Maintenance.
  2. Open the finance enterprise group, then open one of the accounting entities.
  3. Open the accounting unit structure and select the Hierarchy tab.
  4. Open the accounting unit to create as a zone. It must be the top parent accounting unit for the zone.
  5. Specify this information:
    Is A Zone
    Select this check box if the accounting unit is a zone. It must be the top parent level at which you want to balance as the zone.
    Zone Accounting Unit
    Select the zone accounting unit with which to balance. This must be a posting accounting unit. If this accounting unit is a posting accounting unit and a zone, then select the accounting entity as the zone location.
    Default Zone
    Select this check box if this is the default zone accounting unit. You can have only one default zone accounting unit for each accounting entity.
  6. Click Save.
