Exporting an accounting unit hierarchy

You can export an accounting unit hierarchy for ease of maintenance. For example, modifying descriptions or creating a structure for a new entity.

  1. Select Financials > Global Ledger > Setup > Finance Enterprise Group > Maintenance.
  2. Open the finance enterprise group and click the Accounting Entity tab.
    Note: The actual name of this tab is the label that is assigned to Accounting Entity on the finance enterprise group.
  3. Open an accounting entity .
  4. Click the Accounting Unit Structures tab.
  5. Select the accounting unit structure.
  6. Select Actions > Export To Upload.
  7. Specify the Run Group name. To refine the elements that are exported, you can specify a Custom Group, Accounting Entity Group, Accounting Entity, Summary Accounting Unit, or Posting Accounting Unit.
  8. Click OK. The structure is created in all of the accounting unit entities. If a hierarchy exists in the copied structure, then the hierarchy is also copied to the new structure.
  9. Modify the records to prepare them for upload. For example, to upload the hierarchy to another accounting entity, change the name of the accounting entity on each record that you want to upload.
