Setting up carriers
You can set up carriers using these methods: File Transfer Protocol (FTP) and Secure File Transfer Protocol (SFTP.)
- Select Supply Management > Supply Management Setup > EDI > Carriers.
- Click Create.

Specify this information:
- EDI Carrier
- Specify an EDI carrier. EDI carriers can have embedded spaces or special characters in the carrier field.
- EDI Method
- Select the communications protocol to use. The Provider plus the EDI Method is used to describe the protocol in which data is exchanged. Select either FTP (File Transfer Protocol) or SFTP (Secure File Transfer Protocol).
- Host
- Select addressing information for the carrier, for example, IP address or DNS Name.
- Enable Host Key Checking
- This field is available if EDI Method is SFTP. Select this check box to restrict client access only a certain host.
- Authentication Type
- This field is available if EDI Method is SFTP. Select either User And Password, or User And Private Key.
- User
- Specify an ID to access the host, if one is required.
- Sftp Password
- Specify the password to access the host, if one is required.
- Outbound Directory
- Specify the directory into which your FTP or SFTP site provider wants you to put files.
- Outbound File
- If this field contains a value, then when files are uploaded to the server this value is followed by a time stamp. For example, if this field contains ACME, then the file on the server could be named ACME.20171015102359.
- Inbound Directory
- This is the directory at your FTP or SFTP site provider from which you receive files..
- Move Directory
- This is a directory at your FTP or SFTP site provider. If your site provider prefers that you move files to a different directory after receiving them, specify a Move Directory.
- Transfer Type
- This field is available if EDI Method is FTP. Select either ASCII or Binary.

Click Save.
Note: After the carrier record is configured and saved, you can click Test Connection.
