Barcoding performance in an inventory
If barcoded assets are part of a physical inventory, then you can perform an
inventory to match the inventory with the asset data.
The inventory process compares the asset items that are in the inventory with the data that resides in Asset Accounting and checks whether these data match:
- The asset item location
- The asset item quantity
If there are mismatches, then you can print or view a list of the mismatches and provide a reason for the mismatch. The inventory process does not correct the mismatches. You must create the changes in Asset Accounting to match the data with the data that is produced by the handheld terminals.
After you reconcile all of the data, you can update the inventory:
- The new inventory date replaces the last inventory date.
- The condition of the item is updated with the condition at the time of the inventory.
- The reconciled records are removed from the inventory interface file.
