Asset transfer and update

Use these guidelines to help you decide if you are performing a transfer or an adjustment:

• You can update all asset data except for the asset number and the company. You can transfer only the company, asset tag, asset group, location, and division.
• You can update or transfer a location or division depending on which reports suit to your business requirements. You can also update a division or location individually, but you can mass transfer locations and divisions.
• You can partially adjust items by changing an item line and adding a new item line for the unchanged portion of the item.
• When you transfer partial assets, a new asset is created for the transferred portion of the asset.

Mass adjustment creates the same journal entries as individual adjustments, but cannot be changed or rejected online.
