Barcoding considerations

The barcoding addition application cannot use the data from Infor Procurement in Project Ledger to be interfaced along with the handheld terminal data.

When adding an asset from a handheld terminal (HHT), only this set of data is interfaced:

  • The company for which the asset is added
  • The template that is used to associate asset accounts with the asset
  • The items that consists of the asset
  • The quantity for each item
  • The purchase date of each item
  • Each item's product category data, if applicable

After importing the HHT data into Asset Accounting Asset Interface, you must manually add an item cost for each item before you can release the items from the interface file to Asset Accounting. You can associate assets that are interfaced from procurement or Project Ledger with a barcode and location so that they can be part of the physical inventory, but you cannot do this process with a handheld terminal.
