Leased asset updates

You can update and transfer a leased asset similar to a non-leased asset, but you cannot change the book basis for a leased asset.

To dispose an asset because the lease on the asset is terminating, you must close the lease, then dispose of the asset. To adjust an asset because you are buying the asset and terminating the lease early, you must retire the lease, then adjust the asset.
