Creating a product category workbook

  1. Select Asset System Setup > Asset Types.
  2. Select an asset type.
  3. On the Product Categories tab, click Create.
  4. Specify this information:
    Manufacturer ID
    Specify an alphanumeric ID that uniquely identifies the manufacturer. Each manufacturer and model number combination must be unique.
    Manufacturer Name
    Specify the name of the manufacturer. This field must be unique and must represent a unique line of data.
    Model Number
    Specify the model number of the items to be added or inventoried.
    Item Description
    Provide a description for the whole product category line.
  5. Click Save.
