Upgrade common issues

When the Upgrade workflow is run, error notifications are displayed when an unhandled exception occurs.

Missing Spaces

For example, Spaces are missing/user has no access.

Description: The workflow is unable to access the spaces.

Possible cause: This error occurs when a user who created the oauthkeys in Birst does not have access to the spaces.

Resolution:

  1. Verify that the user has the Birst-SystemAdministrator role assigned.

    See Adding security roles.

  2. In Birst, ensure that the spaces are available.
  3. Rerun the upgrade workflow.

Execution of Birst Workflow Failed

For example, Birst Workflow IPA FSM Analytics Upgrade Automation - 3. Repoint Packages failed. Maximum retries reached.

Description: The Birst workflow for repointing packages failed and has reached the maximum retries.

Possible cause: Repoint of packages failure happens due to "no package was imported in the child space" error.

Resolution:

  1. In User Action, restore the spaces.
  2. Rerun the upgrade workflow.
