Process flow

This diagram illustrates the steps performed by the SMD to STC workflow. Since the service_user is the only user with access to the SMD spaces, this is used to sign in to those spaces. The workflow creates or updates the IPA_UpgradeVariable in the STC consumer space to indicate that an upgrade is in progress. First, the workflow creates a backup of the metadata for the STC spaces. After the backup is complete, the spaces from SMD to STC are copied. The connections and packages are then repointed in the STC spaces. The workflow finally creates a new set of STC Birst workflows to complete the process.
