Production scheduling

Production scheduling is used to consolidate demand for the same finished good to optimize production. Production is scheduled based on when the goods are required or on the production start date. The two methods for scheduling production are online and batch.

• The online method of scheduling production can be used to manually build a schedule. You control if one or many work orders are produced.
• The batch method of scheduling is used to list document and forecast demand for finished goods for a production facility. The Warehouse Schedule Planning Report can be run for one item or for all finished goods. You specify the periods in which demand is reported when you run the report. This report can be run based on the date needed or on the latest start date for production. Individual document demand records can be listed in detail or summary. Forecast demand is reported in the summary.
