Copying security group members

Members of a security group are dimensions to which actors of the security group have access. These members are defined by the security group type. For example, members of a project security group are projects and members of a finance dimension security group are summary dimension levels of the defined structure and their children. Copying all members from one security group to another is useful if you are creating a new security group that is made up of other security groups.

Use this procedure to copy all members from one security group to another:

  1. Sign in using one of these roles:
    • ApplicationAdministrator_ST
    • FinancialsAdministrator_ST
    • GLController_ST
    • FinancialBusinessAnalyst_ST
    • ProjectManager_ST
  2. Select Global Ledger > Setup > Global Ledger Security Setup and select the applicable security group type.
Note: Accounting entity security groups, company security groups, and cash code security groups are based on global ledger groups where the members are defined. You cannot copy members for these groups in Global Ledger Security Setup. Instead, go to Global Ledger > Setup.
  3. Select the security group with members you want to copy to another security group and click Copy Members.
  4. In the Copy Members To Another Group dialog, select the group to which you want to copy members in the Copy To Group field, and then click OK.
