Setting up event weighting

You can set up weighting at the event level or the event line level, or both. You can use event templates or create a new event from an existing event with weighting set as the default.

  1. Sign in as Sourcing Manager and select Create Events.
  2. Create a new event, or select an existing event to update.
  3. On the Weighting tab, specify this information:
    Default Event Weighting To Lines
Select this check box if you want event weighting to default to event lines for price, delivery, and diversity when they are created.

Because header and line weighted questions are defined separately, question weighting to lines is not the default.

    Price Weighting
Specify a percentage for price weighting.
    Delivery Weighting
Delivery weighting is only applicable for event lines with PO output.

Specify a weighting percent for delivery and select As Soon As Possible or On Requested Delivery Date.

If you select On Requested Delivery Date, then a Score Allocation field is displayed. You an define a score for suppliers who cannot meet the requested delivery date, but to whom you do not want to give zero points for delivery scoring.

    Diversity Weighting
If this check box is selected and the supplier has diversity codes associated with it, the score will be 100 percent, otherwise, the score is zero percent.
Score Allocation For Non Diverse Suppliers
Use this field to specify the number of points to give for diversity weighting if the supplier is not a diverse supplier.
    Total Question Weighting
This display-only field shows an accumulation of weighting from each question for the event.
    Total Buyer Weighting
This display-only field shows an accumulation of buyer weighting for the event.
    Total Weighting By Event
This display-only field shows an accumulation of weighting for the event.
    Enter Buyer Weighting
Click the Enter buyer weighting link and specify the buyer weighting information. Use buyer weighting so that the user can define weighting criteria for suppliers by percentage.

Specify weighting percentages for the available criteria.

  4. Use the Questions tab to update or create questions for weighting.
    • Questions that are used for weighting must have a Response Type of List, Yes No, or Yes No Text.
    • When you save new questions, the Weighting field is displayed.
    • Select Question Weighting
    • Specify a score for at least one answer for the question in the Answer tab.
  5. On the Weighting tab for Lines, there is an option to designate a weighting override percentage on each line for event weighting for price and delivery.
On the event level, results are weighed from each line evenly. You may want to weigh one line more heavily than the others.
