Access rights

Access rights are used to determine whether an actor can view recommendations for certain items, and whether they can act on recommendations and change the status.

Actor access prerequisites

Before managing access for actors in Inventory Intelligence configuration, you must add the correct role to each applicable actor.

Verify that the employee is linked to the correct actor. See Financials and Supply Management User and Security Setup Guide for information about manually adding actor context records and linking agents.

Inventory Intelligence access rights levels

This table shows how access rights are defined at each level:

Level Description
Default Global Access This setting assigns default access to all actors who have been assigned the Inventory Intelligence Specialist role. This is the highest level access rights setting and applies unless it is overridden by a more granular access rights setting. The Default Global Access field is available at the top of any configuration page.
Default access rights by actor This setting assigns default access to a specific actor. This setting overrides the Default Global Access setting for the applicable actor. Access rights are assigned to a specific actor on the Access Rights tab.

For example, if the Default Global Access setting is View, all actors can view all items. A certain actor can be assigned Edit rights individually. This allows that actor to edit all items. All other actors are only allowed to view items, as specified by the Default Global Access setting.

Access rights by actor by location This setting assigns access to items at a specific location for an actor. This setting overrides the default access rights by actor setting for all items at the specified location. The default access rights by actor setting still applies for all items not at the specified location. Access rights for a specific location are assigned to a specific actor on the Access Rights tab.

For example, if the default access setting for the specified actor is View, that actor can view all items but cannot edit items. If the actor is given Edit rights for a specific location, they can edit the items at that location, but can only view items at other locations.
