Replacing kit components

Components are set up in multiple kits or as a kit in itself. For example, a lighting company can set up a lamp as a kit item with three components: light bulb, lamp shade, and base. The company can also set up the lamp base as a kit.

You can replace or delete components and calculate new component quantities for both make-to-order and finished good kits.

  1. Sign in as Inventory Manager and select Item Setup > Manage Kit Items and View Components.
    Or sign in as Application Administrator and select Supply Management > Supply Management Setup > Items > Manage Kit Items and View Components
  2. Open a kit item.
  3. Click Actions and select Replace Component.
  4. Specify this information:
    Item Group
    Select the item group for which to replace kit components.
    Company
    Select a company.
    Inventory Location
    Select an inventory location.
    Current Component
    Select the current component.
    New Component
    Select a new component.
    New Quantity Factor
    Specify the new quantity factor.

    If specified, then the original component quantity is multiplied by this factor to determine a new component quantity.

  5. Click Submit.
    The selected component is replaced. If you select a new quantity factor, then a new component quantity is calculated.
