What is a process?

In Process Automation, a process moves work from a defined activity to another defined activity. A process can transfer information or work from one user to the next until the work is completed. A process can also perform work that does not involve users such as take information from one FSM form and add or change the same information on another FSM form automatically. Process files have the extension lpd. The .lpd files are XML files in a proprietary format that the Infor Process Designer and Infor Process Server can read.

Financials & Supply Management provides a number of sample files that can be used as templates for processes. Processes used for ION integrations are installed as part of the FSM ION Connector installation. Some processes use email to communicate information with users. The flows with an FSM_ION prefix require Infor ION and Infor Ming.leĀ® in order to function.
