Releasing the shipment
Releasing a shipment is the final step in processing a requisition that has demand on stock.
Caution:
This step cannot be
reversed. Perform this step only when you are certain that all information for the shipment
is correct and complete.
When a shipment is released, the available stock-on-hand in Inventory Control is reduced. Releasing a shipment creates an unreleased inventory transaction record, but does not post to Global Ledger. See the Inventory Control User Guide for information about posting to global ledger accounts.
This list contains information about when shipments can be released:
- After shipping feedback is performed
- After the shipment is completed and you have clicked
- Before the delivery ticket is printed
You can release shipments by running a batch program or using an online program.
